Sleeping and Swimming...But Not At the Same Time!

Earlier today I put Meredith in her Johnny Jump-Up. She loves that thing and will play in it for quite a long time. I was fiddling with my computer when I realized it suddenly had gotten really quiet. I looked up, and this is what I saw...

A little while later (after taking a way-too-short nap), Meredith was doing her "I'm bored" whine, so I decided to pump up her little pool and let her go for a swim. When I first put her in it she cried a little. She wasn't sure what the heck mommy was doing putting her in this pool of water...and it was a little colder than her baths, so she had to get used to it. But then I gave her some of her tub toys and she started splashing and having fun. She looked so cute in her little swim suit that her Aunt Kim bought for her. Here's a few photos:

Exploring the Park

Yesterday I took Meredith for a long walk around a nearby subdivision. We came across a little park that had some swings! So, I held Meredith on my lap and we took a whirl on the swing. Meredith loved it! She was so excited. So, today I took her to a different park that actually has baby swings. She, again, loved it. We also took a stroll down to the river front and watched some boats racing around in the water, and then walked over to where they are building a new splash park. Good times. It kept Meredith entertained. She's cutting her top teeth, so she's very cranky these days. Sometimes I just want to run away! Is that bad? I love her to death, but the crankiness is getting old! Here's a few pictures of our day... and a video of Meredith in the swing!

Fun on the Swings!

The Neches River

The New Splash Park...I imagine those yellow poles will eventually be painted and have some fun water structures on top of them.

A New Car Seat!

Meredith got a new front-facing car seat! I'm very excited about this...even more excited than she is. It soooo much easier to tend to her while driving now that she can see me and I can see and reach her. So nice!

Reflections of Christ

This is very cool... I've actually watched it a couple of times with Meredith on my lap, and every time she just sits quietly and watches intently. It's a very tender experience to see my daughter so enthralled by photos of the Savior. I imagine she knows Him better than I do. I only wish she could tell me what she knows.

Talking...But Not Really Saying Anything

Meredith is so much fun! Sometimes she can be such a ball of energy...and she sure loves to babble! It so cute to watch and to listen to her. I just love it! Here's some video clips of her babbling...
